Regarding the reports of “former colonel Mr. Chung convicted of sex harassment in 2015”, the 10th Army Command said on December 14 that it has established an ad hoc group for investigation upon receiving reports and has removed both parties from their current posts. The Taichung District Court has convicted Mr. Chung and awarded him 8-month jail sentence. The Ministry of National Defense says it respects the results of judicial process.

The 10th Army Command stressed that this case has been cited as an example, and it will reinforce the legal and disciplinary education and the awareness among soldiers of gender equality, so as to prevent similar cases from happening.
